I head the software development department at Webdev Private Limited, where I started as a senior full-stack developer, moved into project management, and now run the engineering function. Alongside that I founded Semita Core Pvt Ltd, a systems and branding practice. Over seven years I have designed, built, and shipped web and mobile platforms for clients in banking, fintech, government, hospitality, and the development sector.
The three jobs feed each other. Writing production code keeps my estimates honest and my technical decisions grounded in what the team will have to maintain. Running projects taught me that most software fails on communication and scope before it fails on code. Leading a department is mostly about making both of those things routine: standards people can follow, plans a sponsor can read, and engineers who are better at the end of each quarter than they were at the start.
I stay with a build until somebody else can run it without me. In practice that makes me as involved in the documentation and the training week as in the architecture, because a system nobody was shown how to use has been delivered rather than finished.
